Catherine Brink loved art from her childhood because she was born into an artistic family. What began as a hobby has blossomed into a full-time career. She studied Visual Arts at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, where she studied various mediums including photography, sculpture and painting. These mediums continue to influence her work, making it intricate and innovative. Catherine is inspired by the beautiful and unique experiences she has had on her many travels throughout the world. Her works have been exhibited both nationally internationally. Catherine creates multi-media masterpieces. The mixed media helps her to express her inner feelings, optimism and spontaneity. Catherine creates images with a layering process of color, texture, shape and line, which articulate her vision, inspiration and mood.
The images she creates are derived from her free-flowing thoughts. Catherine says she has to paint and she doesn’t fear painting. She is never totally satisfied and therefore needs to paint and paint again because that’s what makes her happy. She has so many colors in her head, in so many forms. Catherine is open to learning new styles and techniques. That’s because she want to be at per with the current trends so as to increase the collectability of her art. Her art makes her feel calm and she hopes that her paintings have the same effect on her viewers. She enjoys the effect of her paintings on others’ emotion and imagination. Her art has found its way into many people’s homes and into many art galleries and museums.
