Susan Crawford Omani Boy on his Arab Stallion (Le)

Description:
This remarkable work was painted for HM Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his accession in July 1970. Every year, the Sultan completes a tour of his country with his entourage and the painting records His Majesty's visit to a small village in central Oman, near to where he himself had been born. Thousands of local inhabitants flocked to the Sultan's camp to pay their respects. Most arrived on horseback, dressed in their finest clothes and with their horses beautifully bedecked in silver bridles, which are handed down from generation to generation as family heirlooms. Susan Crawford has chosen to portray the arrival of one local boy, mounted on his superb Desert-bred Arab, in this dramatic tribute. **NOTE** This Limited Edition Gouttelette Print has been signed by the artist and printed with lightfast inks onto acid-free calcium carbonate buffered stock, made from 100% cotton and sourced from environmentally-conscious paper suppliers.
