Petar Meseldzija Wall Art

Petar Meseldžija (Born in 1965) was born in Novi Sad, Serbia. He began his career at the age of 16, publishing a comic series "Krampi" in one of the best known comic magazines in the country, the Stripoteka. This was followed by work on the licensed comic book “Tarzan” and a series of other short comics. Meseldžija graduated from the Painting Department of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. During his studies he worked more often on illustrations but also continued to work on comics. He illustrated his first book in 1991. In the same year, he relocated to the Netherlands and he soon stopped working on comics and focused himself to painting and illustration. He painted about 120 greeting cards and posters during the 1990s, mostly for a company called Verkerke Reproduktie in Holland. He did 33 illustrations for Grimm Press, a publisher from Taiwan.

Meseldžija held his first one man exhibition of paintings and illustrations in 1998 in Amsterdam at the Tjalf Sparnaay Gallery. Since then, he has participated in many other one man exhibitions and even in group exhibitions in the USA, the Netherlands and Yugoslavia. His work has been published in a variety of books and periodicals all over the world. Among the many awards which he has received for his work are: Art Show Judges Choice Award, Two Silver Awards, The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art, Gold Award, The International Golden pen of Belgrade, 59th World Science Fiction Convention, The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art, among others. His original work is to be found in the private collections in the U.S., the Netherlands, Serbia and Germany.
