Betsy Bauer Wall Art

Betsy Bauer is a story teller, artist, painter and an illustrator. She’s been an artist as long as she can remember. Betsy specializes in Visual Development and Character Design. Her paintings celebrate color and the joy of paint. Her main concern is in the energy involved in mark making and the physicality of painting. The artist is as much more focused with removing paint as she is with the application of paint and building a rich patina using layers of paint. She’s inspired with color, plants and the landscape in Santa Fe, NM, with its wonderful light. It is here that she’s lived for the past 30 years. Her prints and paintings are held in private and corporate collections, and museum around the world. Her art hangs in the Embassies of the United States in La Paz, Bolivia and Sarajevo and in the collections of National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. and many others.

She has had numerous solo and group shows throughout Europe and the United States since 1985. In 2011, she graduated with a BFA in Computer Animation from the Ringling College of Art and Design. And in 2012, she had her internship as a character designer and Vis-Dev artist with Sony Pictures Animation. After the internship, she was hired as a staff visual development artist at Digital Domain Tradition Studios. The studio was closed so Betsy is currently freelancing. She has been experimenting with watercolor on paper and going back into mixed media when necessary and acrylic paint, which she likes because it dries fast and is non-toxic.
