Artist Michel Ditlove was born in Paris, France. His Photo-watercolors come from a lifetime of travel in the United States and European countries such as Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and his birthplace, France. Ditlove shoots his images in black-and-white, processes and then prints them in a manner that allows the images to be transferred to Watercolor Paper. The g image that results is then painted with Watercolors. This is therefore a unique combination of perspective of Photography, realism and imagery. His images evoke the subtle pull of places his viewers have been to and to places they still dream of visiting. Ditlove went to the US where he attended the famed Chicago Institute of Design. He studied Photography with Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind, Sculpture under Cosmo Campoli, and Graphics under Richard Koppe.
He did further studies in Painting and Drawing at the American Academy of Arts and at the Art Institute of Chicago. Ditlove is represented in numerous private collections, and his work has been shown in galleries in every major city in France, Canada and the United States. Ditlove has participated in International Exhibitions including the France’s Prestigious Chateaux Shows. Ditlove is a professional graphic designer and advertizing photographer with broad experience in commercial, people and location photography as well as exhibit, ad, catalog, and brochure design. He’s also knowledgeable in web design and has knowledge of various computer programs such as Quark, Photoshop, Word, Corel, etc. he’s bagged more than 500 awards for creative and advertising excellence.
