Debbie DeWitt Wall Art

Debbie Dewitt (Born March 28th, 1956) is an American fine artist born in Portland, Oregon. She started off painting using oil colors, but has evolved to the increasingly famous acrylics that she prefers because they dry fast and offer quality. Debbie was influenced into painting by her graphic design background and her undying love of drawing and painting. Her love of art dates back to her childhood days when she really enjoyed viewing art from different artists. At the time she started using acrylics, the shabby chic movement had already gained ground and somehow influenced her works. Plywood provided the background for her works when she started experimenting with acrylics. This is because she likes how paint reveals the texture of the background and gives the painting some vintage touch, something quite adorable now. Besides plywood, Debbie also uses canvas. She uses different mediums that would give the most fitting effect.

Debbie’s first formal training was in drawing and classical painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While still at the institute, she got in love with oil painting although she also worked a bit with pastels, acrylics, and pencil. Debbie later went to Parsons School of Design in NYC to study fine arts, but later switched to graphic design, believing that the course would be a great addition to her painting career and vice versa. She has worked for Eurogroup, AD-Lines and has had her works exhibited across the country. She also creates customized murals and faux paintings for individuals and companies. She currently runs Angel Art and Design Company in NYC, offering artwork, publishing, licensing, and graphic design services.
