Terry Isaac Wall Art

Terry Isaac is an internationally acclaimed wildlife artist. He grew up in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, a place that had plenty of wildlife. It’s here that his love affair with wildlife began. Isaac drew inspiration from the captivating vistas of the Northwest and from his own backyard, and he began to create wildlife art that’s quite dramatic. He’s now based in Penticton, BC, Canada, and, since moving, he has continued to create paintings that capture the unique characteristics of wildlife and their habitat. Isaac travels around the globe capturing exciting images, but his paintings mainly focus on North American mammals and birds. His formal art began with an interest in drawing cartoons and animation. After his training in an art college, Isaac became interested in children’s book illustration but soon discovered his childhood passion for wildlife again.

He has created realistic wildlife art since the mid 1980’s, and his focus has been on particularity and dramatic light. Isaac’s inspiration comes from panoramas as well as close-up views. He also gets inspiration from subjects ranging from hummingbirds to whales. During his professional and successful career he has been the featured “Artist of the Year” at a number of art expos/shows, placed in 12 print and stamp competitions, and has been commissioned by the Audubon Society to create handbooks and hired to develop the main character in a Walt Disney production. Isaac’s works are housed in leading permanent collections such as Bennington Center For The Arts, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, American Airlines, among others.
