Rob Johnson Wall Art

Rob Johnson is currently located in Washington State. He worked as an illustrator after graduating from the Art Institute of Seattle. Johnson knew from a very young age that he wanted to be an artist. He used to surround himself with art books and artwork by the artists that he admired. His family noticed his talent and was very supportive in his endeavors towards a career in art. His grandmother entered him in art contests, while his father helped him paint murals on his bedroom walls. He attributes his success to both his grandfather and his father. His childhood experiences play a very important role in his creative work, show signs of his idiosyncratic sense of humor that stemmed from an allure of movies, comic books and off-beat magazines. While in Seattle honing his skills, he gained the confidence he needed and turned his passion into a career. Johnson began working in the computer industry, particularly in the gaming field.

This allowed him to continue freelancing on the side. Working for the gaming companies provide him with skills that incorporated themselves into his work as the artist began implementing three-dimensional elements into his paintings. Soon in art was chosen to be showcased at the Spectrum Illustration Annuals. This is an exhibition where the best in Fantasy Illustration and Science Fiction are shown. His art was exhibited here in 1998, 1999, and 2004. He was given an opportunity to work for Donna Rosen, the Washington, DC representative for several years. Johnson contributed to the success of clients such as Edge Shaving Gel, Coldwell Banker, Dow Chemicals, Sports Illustrated, Discovery, Wampler Foods, Erie Insurance, AAA, and the FBI.
