Gloria Affenit Wall Art

Gloria Affenit was fortunate to be born in New York City, where she was surrounded by many stimulating artistic opportunities, and, as a result, she has been in love with art since early childhood. Her love of art first manifested itself in a career in Interior Design. But it was not until her early 40s that she began to paint, exploring various media by attending workshops with prominent national, as well as local artists. For many years, she concentrated on watercolor as a preferred medium which she layered into watercolor collage or used traditionally. Currently, when painting traditional works for her, she seeks dramatic impact through color intensity and design. However, when painting non-representational or abstracts works for her, her emphasis is on color, texture, and form. She’s more intrigued with design than with pictorial content.

Gloria finds tremendous excitement and satisfaction when the works come together as planned. More often than not, a hidden message may be found in her paintings if they are studied closely. Regardless of the subject, the vibrancy and colors so typical of her work seem to breathe life into each piece by giving them an essence more of how one would feel in his/her hearts than what they see with their eyes. Gloria works primarily in acrylic and watercolor, although recently she’s expanded her focus to include other applications including collage. Her goal is to continue to grow and produce more interesting paintings. Gloria studied art at UNC/Asheville, Brevard Community College and at Miami Dade College. She continues to expand her knowledge of art by attending workshops.
