Lynne Taetzsch Wall Art

Lynne Taetzsch (Born, 1941) was born in East Orange, New Jersey. She’s a writer and an abstract painter and since 2000 she’s been based in Ithaca, New York where she has her own studio. From 1961 to 1963, Lynne studied fine art at Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and from 1959 to 1960, she studied at the University of Southern California. She later proceeded to the University of California, and to Rutgers University and to San Diego State University where she received a B.A. in English and an MA in Creative Writing respectively. In 1992, she received a PhD in Creative Writing from Florida State University. With such a strong academic background, Lynne laid a firm foundation for her artwork. She has exhibited her work in one person and group shows throughout the USA and has participated in a group show in Seoul, South Korea at the Cosmopolitan Art Association.

Her first one person show was held in 1964 at Paula Insel Gallery in New York City. Lynne is currently represented by Boston Art, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts, Monkdogz Urban Art in New York City, and Zingaro Gallery in Glendale, Arizona. Having learnt to paint and draw from life from childhood, her art gradually change and became more abstract. Today, her work hangs in institutional and private collections worldwide. She was inspired by abstract expressionists from New York, and with the encouragement of her painting teacher, so she began adding collage materials to her oil painting.
