Peggy Olsen Wall Art

Peggy Olsen (Born 1937) was born in New York, New York. She’s known for florals, landscape, still life art. She was raised in Southern California and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Pomona College. Peggy continued her education and attained her Master of Arts degree from Columbia University in New York. After graduation, she began her career in the San Francisco, California area as a Social Worker. In 1970, she moved to the Monterey Peninsula, and after she retired from her Social Work positions, Peggy attended classes of art at the Carmel Adult School and the Monterey Peninsula College. She studied with leading Peninsula artists Reed Farrington and Keith Lindberg. She was selected to be an artist member of Carmel Art Association in 1986. Peggy has served on their Board of Directors for many years. When she’s away from home, her vibrant paintings of Salinas and Carmel valley views recall for her the twisted live oaks, brown hills, and fields of sprightly wildflowers that keep drawing her back to this area. Her art has had the same effect on a lot of people; they are captivating and often viewers stand to have a second look. She has consistently been among the top sellers A of the Carmel Art Association since 1986. After a bout with breast cancer in 1990’s, she tried to retire from painting just recently. But that didn’t work at all because her fans simply won’t let her go. Since then, she’s completed more than a hundred new pieces of art, some of which are on display at the Carmel Art Association Gallery.
