Stephen Renard Wall Art

Stephen Renard (Born 1947) was born in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. Although he was clearly gifted artistically from an early age and was interested in art, he chose to go to teachers training college at Liverpool University, where he concentrated on the sciences. He became a professional teacher, and in the course of his work he also became a professional portrait artist and illustrated children's comics to supplement his income. In 1981 Renard bought a boat and developed his love of the sailing and sea. Soon he turned to painting sailing ships and his work quickly became very poplar with art dealers and marine art enthusiasts. His work is now in great demand throughout the world, particularly at Kendall's Fine Art and at many galleries and auction houses around the world. There have been many articles about Renard, including one written for ArtDaily in 2008.

He’s presently regarded as one of the leading painters of yachting subjects in the world and is widely recognized as one of the most fast rising commercial successes in this field. Numerous works by Renard have been sold at auction. His work continues to be in constant demand from dealers and collectors and his meticulously accurate oils have continued to prove to be sound investments. His art has found its way into many prestigious buildings in the U.K. They are highly priced by many discriminating collectors. Renard is very keen to detail; rarely will he miss small bits that are easily overlooked by many painters. This is one of the many reasons why his client base has been growing.
