Hazel Burrows is an Artist and actor. She’s had an interest in art for as long as she can remember. She studied at the Portsmouth College of Art, England and graduated with distinctions. A love of travel and art has led her to travel a lot and to many adventures. She has painted in the Bahamas and has sold her work in many galleries and trade fairs around the world. After her graduation, she became an art teacher in Winchester. She also taught pottery and painting in adult evening classes. Hazel decided to settle in the historic city of Southampton, where she lives with Rob, her partner, and paints in her studio in an old Victorian house by the sea.
For more than twenty years, she has painted on silk, with commissions coming from as far afield as Australia, Africa, Europe and America. Her work is constantly evolving on silk; and her affinity with nature clearly shows in all her pieces of art. When not painting in her studio, Hazel is often starring in ground-breaking amateur drama productions, recently in The Importance of Being Earnest as Lady Bracknell. She can also be found relaxing with family and friends. Hazel has a relaxed approach with her subjects. She says this is important because she knows it results in authentic pieces of art that will last forever. Her clients hire her with a goal in mind to acquire her original pieces of art for their homes that they know they will be able to cherish for a lifetime.
