Robert A. Fleming Wall Art

Robert A. Fleming obtained his formal art training at Miami University in Ohio. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Fleming began his painting career in Kansas City at Hallmark Cards designing gift-wrap, cards and books. He was also a graphic designer for a long time in television in Oakland, CA at KTVU. In his first week at Hallmark, he got to see a watercolor demonstration by John Pike and he says that day got him hooked when John told the audience that their “paintings need to entertain.” In 2008, the artist had his historical golf painting accepted into the Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Florida. The painting was based on the 1913 United States Open. Fleming has been doing art for more than 50 years now to the delight of his patrons.

He uses the wet-in-wet technique which makes his original watercolors have a spontaneous and fresh feeling, with the majority of his subjects painted and exhibited in the Southwest. Almost 50 percent of his watercolors are created en Plein Air (on location) surrounded by blooming cactus and peaceful desert scenes. He has received many awards including poster artist for the Borrego Springs Art Show and 1st Place-Watercolor, Southwest Arts Festival, Indio, CA. He now spends his time going to art shows in the Southwest. His art is in many galleries and collections around the world. They are not only attractive but are also inspiring. His experience and passion make him to produce art with the client in mind.
