Ros Oesterle Wall Art

Ros Oesterle studied at Skidmore College where she majored in art. She then continued her education at Columbia University studying painting and drawing. She also attended subsequent workshops with several well-known watercolorists including Don Andrews, Claude Croney, and Ed Whitney among others. She started painting in watercolor when she her daughter and her husband were spending summers in northern Vermont. Her nature studies and rural themes developed during this time and continued to be the focus of her work for many years. Ros’ knowledge and appreciation of nature and wildflowers produced paintings that portray accurate detail with flowing, fluid abstract backgrounds. Her paintings have been exhibited in the juried shows of Audubon Artists, The Salmagundi Club, The National Arts Club, The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, the Hudson Valley Art Association, and the American Watercolor Society. She’s a Signature Member of the American Watercolor Society, a member of the Katonah Museum Art Association, The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and a Juried Member of the Hudson Valley Art Association.

In the recent past, the non-objective or abstract aspect of her work has continued to dominate as a design theme with only a proposition of the original subject matter. The artistic expression that results allows both viewer and artist new dimensions of communication and discovery. Since 1980 her paintings have been reproduced and have been sold throughout Europe and the United States. Her work has been shown in the Blue Heron Gallery in Wellfleet, where she was an original exhibitor. They have been shown many other galleries. She has received many awards.
